What to expect?
Each of our patient’s appointments are different and tailored to suit their needs. A typical examination can involve:
Time dedicated to listen to the patients concerns and understand their lifestyle, the mechanisms of the injury, past problems and any upcoming goals that are relevant.
Checking the patient’s circulation and sensation.
Testing the patient’s foot, ankle and leg strength and functionality.
Looking at the patient’s footwear and advising on more appropriate options.
Observing how patients walk.
Conduct a callus and corn debridement, as necessary.
Giving muscle strengthening exercises where needed.
Looking at options of care for padding, inserts, orthotics or even footwear modifications.
Setting up a treatment plan for the patient to follow as part of their at-home treatment.
Our goal at Podiatry Mackay is to ensure that our patient’s underlying problems are corrected so they receive a lasting solution. Patients will learn the tools to look after their foot health long after they leave our care.
