Heel Pain

So, your best friend has mentioned that they have Heel Pain or Plantar Fasciitis and that they wouldn’t wish it on their worst enemy!

Plantar Fasciitis is painful under the heel especially when you rise from sitting or resting.

What we do know is:

1.       It occurs more in the 40-60 year-old age group

2.       It can affect those who are considered overweight

3.       You can experience ankle tightness

4.       You may have foot and calf muscle and postural weaknesses

5.       Poor footwear can add to or even cause the problem

6.       Extended or unexpected activity on your feet can aggravate the plantar fascia (Eg. Holidays, renovations, increase in exercise or occupation levels)

You haven’t got it and you certainly don’t want it!  What can you do to help avoid getting it?

1.       Lose weight

2.       Keep your ankle joints more supple

3.       Get stronger in your feet and legs

4.       Replace your unsuitable, unstable or worn-out shoes
